How to Get Started:
Q. What is personal home care assistance?
Personal home care assistance is assistance with activities of daily living. Activities of daily living include personal care (bathing, dressing, help with the bathroom), light housekeeping, laundry, errands, medication reminders, meal preparation, and transportation.
Q. Who can receive personal home care assistance?
Individuals of all ages and with a variety of personal care needs can receive personal home care assistance services.
Q. Can you send someone for only a few hours a week?
Yes! We tailor our services to your needs. Whether you need a couple of hours of respite care or 24/7 care, we’ve got you covered.
Q. Can we arrange for occasional transportation to doctors’ appointments?
Transportation, especially to medical appointments and procedures is a popular home care service. It can often be arranged in a few hours, but the more notice given is always better. It is best, if possible, to give us 24 hours notice.
Q.Do you provide personal home care assistance in other settings?
Of course! Wherever your loved ones call “home” we can serve them. We understand that your loved one may require a short hospital stay and require one of our caregivers to give you the peace of mind that someone is always looking after your loved one. Wherever your loved ones call “home,” we can serve them.
Communication
You are an essential partner in your loved one’s care. Lenox Home Care encourages you to stay involved. Please get to know the caregivers and supervisors providing care to your loved one. If you see anything in the home that concerns you, report it immediately no matter how trivial your observation may seem. Visit as frequently as possible to get an accurate understanding of what is going on. (Long distance family members may want to find someone trusted to make the visits.) Lenox will do “surprise” supervisory visits in addition to scheduled supervisory visits, an important aspect of quality assurance. We a complete la og of activities and notes as well as full record of medications, medical history and emergency contacts for your review. Family members have full access to the charts and the notes can be scanned and emailed if you wish. Please feel free to contact Lenox at any time to discuss your loved one’s care.
In-home Assessments
We routinely perform in-home assessments that result in a customized care plan for your loved ones. You may choose to have us carry out the care plan in whole or in part, or you may simply choose to use the care plan to improve your own ability to care for your loved one. We can provide access to information, training and resources for caregivers in areas like: *fall-prevention assessments and training. One of the largest sources of injuries among seniors is falling. We can help you assess the risks that your loved one faces and provide education on how to minimize the risk of falling. Also, if you request, we will even conduct a free workshop on fall prevention for your group. Visit the Fall Prevention section to learn more. *Home safety checks. We have extensive experience in the multi-faceted process of ensuring that your loved one’s home is safe, which is vital to maintaining independence for as long as possible. *Support and understanding. We can help you get connected with support groups and individuals in our area that can help YOU, as well as help you care for your loved one.
